When you can request a refund
- Within 14 days of purchase, if you have not yet redeemed any uses from the pack.
- Within 14 days, with prorated value, if the partner restaurant closes the venue you bought the pack for and offers no alternative location.
- Any time, if a transaction was unauthorized — your card was used without your permission. Contact us immediately and we'll coordinate with your bank.
How refunds work
We refund the original payment method through Stripe. Funds typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days; the exact timing depends on your bank, not on us. Once a refund is issued, the pack is marked refunded and can no longer be redeemed.
If the pack had any redemptions before the refund request, those redemptions are not reversed — they happened at the merchant. A partial refund may be possible at the partner's discretion; email support@aroodme.com.
What stays the same
AroodMe's commission and Stripe's processing fee on the original sale are returned to the restaurant's balance as part of the refund — the customer is made whole, and the merchant's ledger reconciles.
Disputes and chargebacks
If you raise a chargeback with your bank instead of contacting us, we'll respond to the dispute through Stripe with the purchase + redemption records we have on file. Where a chargeback is upheld against AroodMe in your favour, the pack is automatically marked refunded and the partner restaurant's balance adjusted.
Pack expiry is not a refundable event
Prepaid packs have a documented expiry window shown at the time of purchase (typically 30–365 days). Unused redemptions do not expire into cash — they expire into nothing, and the merchant has no obligation to honour an expired pack. Plan ahead, or buy a smaller pack.
Who actually refunds you
For most refunds you initiate during the 14-day window, AroodMe and the partner restaurant handle the refund in tandem — you don't need to coordinate it yourself. Email support@aroodme.com with the email you used at checkout and the pack name.
